The Countdown Begins

I come home in one week! Hooray! I'm so excited to see everybody:) Janette will be all dressed up for Homecoming and I get to go to Steph's baby shower, too! If I don't see you Friday, I'll see you Sunday!

This is completely unrelated, but I read 1984 this week. It was weird, but really cool. Ang's blog about people no longer reading sounded somewhat harrowing when I had just finished a book where people almost never use pens and paper anymore. The minority rules and all others are kept ignorant. Scary. Next on my list(from similar authors/on similar topics): Animal Farm, Dandelion Wine, Fahrenheit 451.

Another unrelated announcement:
I posted a link on the side for another blog specifically for my poems. There's not much there yet, but check it out if you want, just letting you know it's there.

Have a great weekend!!! TGIF!

My Birthday

Well, as many of you know, today, September 15, is my birthday. I am now twenty years old. Having spent two decades on this earth, I'm astounded that God gave me any time at all. I've had the oppurtunities to live and love Him and others, and that is a great gift. He saved me what feels like a long time ago in my childhood, and for that I am eternally grateful.

I still feel like a child in some ways - although I feel old in others. It's weird to think that 20 is the midpoint between 10 and 30. As I grow older, I hope I grow wiser and more mature, but not too serious. There is so much in life to take joy in! I can wake up and walk in my own power (physically speaking, not spiritually), I can run, I can read and write, I have the entire Bible to guide me. So amidst all the birthday wishes and many happy returns, I just want to encourage you to Seize the Day, Carpe Diem! Life is wonderful, and every day is a gift.

Ps. 90:12
"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."

Ecc. 12:1a
"Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth..."
