A Bow in the Cloud or More than a Silver Lining

I'm back at CCC, which is good because now that I'm here, it means the semester will soon be over and I can relax over Christmas break! However, with the usual leaving home rush, I forgot a couple things, got back to school, and missed home. It's getting easier every time I leave, but I still miss just being around my family (and friends from TBC who will leave before I get home...might not see them for a couple months).

Anyway, I was exiting Cathcart (Dining Commons) after dinner and felt a few flecks of rain. Immediate thought was "Oh, great, I've got to go to the cafe, get a scantron before class, get back to my room, study, go to my class, and take a big test...and it's starting to rain!!" Well, that all flashed across my mind in a matter of seconds, but as soon as I turned right and saw the sky, there to the south was a rainbow. It was an amazing wide half circle, probably one of the biggest I'd ever seen. I saw it clearly against a background of grey clouds. I could see all the colors. It was beautiful, and it reminded me of God's promise (Genesis 9:13-17). It was as if God said to my heart right then, "I'm still here with you. I haven't forsaken you, you are not alone. Wait and trust in me. I love you, and I'm glad you like it."

So, my personal little thundercloud disappeared when I saw the bow within the cloud. Better than a silver lining, it was a full array of gemstone colors. God revealed Himself to me once again, and He was glorified in it.

Later, I remembered that I will only see the full circle of a rainbow around God's throne (Revelation 4:3), "but until then, my heart will go on singing."

"I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth." Genesis 9: 13

Look!!!!

This is Nora...John and Steph's baby girl, and my new niece! I'm so happy :o) I'll see her Friday or Saturday!!

Nora's here!!

Well, I got a call shortly after noon from my Mom saying that Nora had arrived safe and healthy! She is 7lbs, 1 oz. and has dark hair (so she looks a little more like John for right now). I'm so happy!! I cried when Mom told me, I'm just overjoyed and so thankful that God answered our prayers! See you all this weekend! I'll try and get a picture up later tonight!

Quick Baby Update

Ok, Steph went to the hospital this morning, and the induce/induction(?) process is underway. The baby will probably arrive on Wednesday, November 15 (exactly 2 months after my birthday)! I'll post again when little Nora gets here, and if Janette sends me a picture, I'll try and put that up too.

I wish I was home...

Change of topic:
So, I left my AC adapter and battery at home, so I have to go to the computer lab or library for everything, which is kind of a bummer, but is in fact, my own fault. Go ahead, laugh away :)

It was great to see so many people this weekend, and I'll be home again Friday!!!! As Jineane says, "Yayhoo!"

Since I've lived there my whole life, I will probably spend the first few days of my vacation up at Trinity to see friends and professors and just to hang out. I think I'll go sit in OT Survey just to laugh...

Ok, this wasn't supposed to be this "long", just a quick post, so until we meet again...audieu

Good News!

Well, I've been smiling all day yesterday and today because....Steph's probably going to have her baby on Tuesday, Nov. 7! Then, on Friday, the 10th, Mom, Jeff, Jill, Sarah, and Sylvie are coming down here to see the play "The Importance of Being Earnest" and I'm going home with them :o) Then, I see the baby on Saturday!!! I am so excited! This truly is our miracle child, Nora Elizabeth.

More good news, our good friend, Jacob Vorpahl is back in America and safe. I'm so relieved and thankful that our prayers have been answered in both these matters.

I'll probably spend this weekend at the WOL superbowl in Orlando, so that'll be a blast too. So, I'll be home next weekend, then I'll be back at CCC for a week, then home for a whole week for Thanksgiving Break!! Yay!

I usually don't use so many exclamation points in my blogs, but I felt the occasion warranted it.

:0) And I smile continually...
